The West Valley beach volleyball team fell into a 3-0 hole it could not get out of in a 3-2 Coast Conference loss to Gavilan Wednesday in Saratoga. The Vikings (7-2, 4-2 Coast) lost 2-0 (3's), 2-1 (4's) and 2-0 (5's) in the opening round, giving the Rams (7-3, 4-2) a 3-0 lead and making the 1's and 2's matches inconsequential. Viking 2's Morgan Wright and Kaylin Henderson swept Rams Sarah Weiby and Kaitlyn Viray 21-18, 21-19, and 1's Mapuhola Sekona and Emma Blockhus overwhelmed Mikeila Banda and Haley Leifeit 21-12 and 21-16.
