Cats soar past Jets in opener

The Saddleback beach volleyball team opened the season with a 4-1 victory over San Diego Miramar College on Friday at Irvine Valley College.  The Bobcats swept through four matches in opening the season with a win.

Saddleback won 9-of-11 sets throughout the day.  The Bobcats were particularly good on the back end and showed some depth with dominating wins at the 4'5 and 5's.  Olivia Gonzalez and Sydney Pak (pictured) were 21-19, 21-13 winners at the 3's while Sabrina Hernandez and Haley Jones were 21-12, 21-9 winners at the 4's and Sarah Patin and Kaydance Robles were 21-17, 21-14 winners at the 5's.   Saddleback's top pair of Sydney Brown and Lilyann Horner were 21-17, 21-15 winners at the 1's.

Saddleback was scheduled to play their second match of the day against Cerritos College at 1:00 PM.
