Tournament Schedule

Long Beach City College is set to host the 17th annual truWest Battle at the Beach women's water polo tournament this Friday and Saturday, October 24-25. This year's field features 21 teams, making it one of the largest community college water polo tournaments in the state. Games will be played at LBCC and nearby Cypress College.

This year's tournament should be the extremely competitive as conference leaders Riverside City College and Fullerton College (Orange Empire), San Diego Mesa College (Pacific Coast Athletic), Mt. San Antonio College (South Coast), and Cuesta College (Western State) will all be playing.

Host Long Beach enters the tourney with a 14-7 overall record. The Vikings are coming off a narrow 6-5 South Coast Conference loss at Mt. San Antonio on Wednesday.

On Friday at LBCC, the Vikings will open the tournament with a 7 a.m. contest against Cuesta. Later in the day, Long Beach returns to the pool to take on Grossmont College at 3:40 p.m. Then on Saturday, the Vikings will switch sites and compete at Cypress.

Directions to: LBCC - The LBCC aquatic center is located on the south side of campus (south of Carson St.) directly accross from the tennis courts. A daily parking permit is required.
