The Santa Monica College Corsairs earned their first tie of Western State Conference play against the LA Valley Monarchs. Both teams came out with intensity and battled throughout the first half unable to find the back of the net. The Corsairs led the number of shots in the first half with 4 and Goalkeeper Alexi Howard recorded one save in the first half.
The second half was similar with no goals being scored. The Monarchs were able to produce more opportunities than the Corsairs but Howard recorded an additional 6 saves in the second half to keep the Corsiars shut out going.
With this tie, SMC moves to 5-1-1 in conference play and 8-3-3 overall. The Corsairs return home on Friday, October 25th at 3pm.
