Knights Earn a Split in PCAC Opener

In the match against MiraCosta, City's 1s pair of Ashley Davies and Jillian Geenen lost a tough 3-set battle. They won the first set, 25-23, lost the second set, 21-6, and were then edged out, 16-14 in the third set.
The 2s pair of Charisman Saymo and Riley Hearn lost in two sets, 21-11 and 21-12, but the 3s, 4s, and 5s teams all won their matches to give the Knights their first PCAC win of the season.
The 3s pair of Sydney Bishop and Sarah Cashman won their match, 21-16 and 21-15, while the 4s team of Haniel McKee and Phina Bustos knocked off their opponents, 21-17 and 21-6.
The 5s duo of Esperanza Alcantar and Samantha Hernandez dropped their first set, 21-17, but recovered with a 21-9 win in the second set, and then put together a 15-11 victory in the final set.
The Knights will be back at it next Friday, March 24 against Mt. San Jacinto and Palomar.
