Bobcats score a perfect 10

Bobcats score a perfect 10

The Saddleback women's soccer team had a night to remember with a 10-0 win against Mt. San Jacinto College on Tuesday night inside the stadium.  Maliyah Medley scored a hat trick in the opening nine minutes as the Bobcats tied a school record and broke two more.

Saddleback's 10 goals tied the record for most goals scored in a game set in 2016 (Cuyamaca, 10-0).  Another two records were broken as Medley scored the fastest hat trick in program history and the crowd of over 650 was easily the largest crowd in program history.

With all the youth groups from the area invited, Medley put on a show to start the game.  She scored in the second minute off a pass from Lizbeth De Loera as Saddleback grabbed an early lead.  Medley then scored off a pass from Averee Campos in the eighth minute to make the score 2-0.  One minute later, De Loera and Medley once again hooked up for a 3-0 lead as Medley scored her eighth goal of the season.

Saddleback had it on cruise control from that point forward.  They scored three more times in the opening half as De Loera, Emma Snow and Shanai Mai Auguis all found the back of the net.

Saddleback wasted no time in getting back on the board to start the second frame.  De Loera scored her second of the game in the 47th minute unassisted before Snow scored her second of the game a minute later off a pass from Kylie Beu in the 48th minute.  Saddleback tallied two more goals later in the game as Isabella Messina and Nadia Amin got into the books.

Saddleback outshot Mt. San Jacinto 24-4 for the game, keeping the pressure in the Eagle defensive end.  The Bobcats had nine corner kicks and finally took their foot off the gas pedal down the stretch.

Saddleback is now 3-0 on the season, outscoring opponents 25-0 for the year.  The Bobcats will play again at Long Beach City College on Friday at 1:00 PM.
