The Beavers began their SoCal trip by facing NCAA DIII #28 ranked George Fox Bruins. The match was a battle from the first point until the last. At #1 doubles, Stephen Guenard/Sam Hall defeated former Beaver Justin Barton, and his partner Alex Namba, 8-2. Younes Kodiji/Tommy Luu were on serve until late in the match at #2, but were broken late and lost the match to Rox Rogers/Jonah Wafula, 8-5. At #3 doubles Micah Erwin/Kaison Lum fell behind early and were unable to get back in to the match, eventually losing 8-2 to another former Beaver, Pete Gibson, and his partner Sam Watt.

The singles was even more competitive and eventually the dual-team match came down to #4 singles to decide the team winner. Highlights for the Beavers included Stephen Guenard putting on a clinic at #2 singles, defeating Keaton Baker 6-3, 6-1. At #5, Tommy Luu was almost as dominant, beating Jonah Wafula 6-3, 6-2. At #3 singles Sam Hall and Rox Rogers had an extremely competitive match, with Hall finally finishing the match 10-5 in the 3rd set match-tiebreak. The last match on was at #4, where Micah Erwin and former Beaver Pete Gibson battled to determine the team winner. After the two warriors split sets, the 10-point breaker went back and forth, with each player raising their level as the match tiebreak progressed. Finally, at 9-8 Gibson forced the error from Erwin, clinching the individual and team match for the Bruins.

It was an incredible match and a great experience for the young Beavers as they will face two of the top teams from SoCal (Riverside and Cerritos) over the next three days.
