Men's Basketball Goes 2-0 in Western State Classic With Win Over Oxnard

Bakersfield, CA – In their final game of the Western State Classic, the Renegades Men's Basketball team followed up their highest offensive output of the season with their second highest offensive outing of the year beating Oxnard College, 101-54.

The Renegades struggled out of the gate, falling behind by as much six points early in the first half. The Renegade offense was able to warm up rather quickly before the half though as they went into the locker room with a 15-point lead, 47-32.

The Renegades didn't let off the gas going into the second half as they passed the century mark in points just before the clock ran out sending the Condors back to Oxnard with a lop-sided loss.

Freshman guard Saintfilson Vincent led the Renegades in scoring with 18 points. Tyrell Coleman added 17 with eight rebounds and Javier Gallardo chipped in 13 with seven rebounds.

The team now improves to 12-2 on the season. The team will now start conference play beginning on the road at Santa Monica on Wednesday (1/8) at 7:00pm.
