Men's Soccer Falls to Taft at Home

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team was shut out at home against Taft College on Friday afternoon in a 2-0 decision. | BOX SCORE

The Cougars (5-0-1) scored early after converting on a penalty kick in the third minute of play. Taft scored once more in the final seconds of the opening half after capitalizing on a ball that ricocheted off the Hancock (1-3-1) defender following a save. 

The Bulldogs struggled to find momentum on the offensive end and were outshot at a hefty 21-6 margin. Juan Montelongo was the lone player to register more than one attempt for the Bulldogs in the match. Anthony Morales, Bryan Gomez, Myles Baro, and Jehu Garcia Jr combined for the four total shots on target for the squad. TJ Vinnedge suffered the loss in the box after an active 90 minutes of action. He recorded a season-high of nine saves in the contest, with seven coming in the second half.

Hancock is set to resume action on Tuesday, September 14th, with a home showing versus Cabrillo at 4 PM on Allan Hancock Field.
