TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College held the lead after the doubles portion of its match against Saddleback on Tuesday afternoon but could not hold on to it in the singles matches, ultimately falling 5-4 at the ECC Tennis Courts.

The Warriors' top two doubles teams dominated their matches en route to a 2-0 lead but the Gauchos were able to salvage a point in the No. 3 match, which proved pivotal later on in the match.

In the singles matches, Warriors No. 1 Jordan Alexander cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 victory and No. 2 Ignas Kirkila also cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win, putting the Warriors a point away from victory. But the Gauchos won the remaining matches including a three-set win in the No. 3 singles match between ECC's Daniel Hermosisima and Saddleback's Riley McCall.

The Warriors will continue to hunt for their first victory of the season on Thursday as they host Mount San Jacinto in the Inland Empire Conference opener.
