Ciera Van Quick tied the game with her only basket of the evening on Saturday night and Jordan Parkhurst won it with a free throw that lifted SBCC over Oxnard 70-69 in a WSC North women's basketball game at the Sports Pavilion.

The Vaqueros (14-7, 2-4) led 39-28 at halftime and 55-52 after three quarters. They took a 65-57 lead on a jumper by Sierra Cavaletto with 6:52 to play. Oxnard (7-12, 1-5) went on a 12-2 run to grab the lead, 69-67, on Jasmine Wright's 3-point play with 0:29 remaining.

Van Quick, a 5-8 freshman from Biggs, Calif., made a layup to tie it at the 15-second mark, then stole the ball from Robin Prince with 11.1 seconds to go.

Jordan Parkhurst was fouled on the play and hit the second of two free throws to put the Vaqueros up 70-69 with 11 seconds left. Natalie Maldonado missed a jumper with three seconds left and Cavaletto secured the rebound.

Sophia Torres paced SBCC with 21 points (on 8-12 shooting), 13 rebounds and four assists. Prince had 17 points and 19 boards for the Condors.

SBCC outshot the visitors 43.1% to 29.2%. Oxnard was only 5-28 from 3-point country and the Vaqueros were 4-16.

Jada Forsdick-Stevenson scored 17 points, missing her career high by one, and grabbed five rebounds. Alondra Jimenez added 11 points and five boards.

The Vaqueros have two games left -- Wednesday at home vs. No. 2 Moorpark at 5 p.m. and Friday at Hancock at 5 p.m.
