CHABOT BASEBALL NOTCHES CLUTCH WIN OVER CSM

The surging Chabot baseball team held on for a 10-9 win over rival College of San Mateo on March 16 at Gene Wellman Field and enters the week one game out of first place in the Coast-Golden Gate.

The Gladiators (9-13, 4-2) have won four of their past five games.

After scoring four runs in both the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings to take a 10-4 lead, Chabot survived a five-run CSM uprising in the ninth to prevail.

Gerald Nervis highlighted the seventh with a two-run home run. Jake Simons, who had an RBI walk in the seventh, belted a two-run triple in the eighth. Caleb Millikan had a big game with three RBI.

Chris Tonna gave the Gladiators a quality start, allowing six hits and three runs over 7.2 innings, with eight strikeouts and two walks.
