SMC Tennis Defeats Glendale, 8-1
SMC Tennis hosted visiting Glendale and won 8-1 raising their record to 4-5 conference and 4-5 overall.
Nicole West and Kai Nikchevich played flawless doubles winning 8-0. West and Nikchevich each added a singles point in their straight set win. West (no. 1 singles) was the first Corsair to finish, winning 6-2, 6-2. Nikchevich (no. 2 singles) found herself down 0-3 in the first set but won the next 6 games and closed out the match with a flurry of volleys, winning convincingly, 6-3, 6-4.
Veronica Gerlach got the 7th point for the Corsairs who kept pressure on her opponent and never let up, closing out her match with a 6-0 second set. Yasna Yaghoubi (no. 4 singles) was once again the last Corsair playing winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
