Hovasse Leads City With 24 Points in 73-66 Win Over Saddleback

Three other starters also scored in double figures, including Legend Stamps who had 14 points, six rebounds, and three blocks. Makiah Morris scored 11 points and brought down a team-best eight rebounds, while Kai Huntsberry added 10 points.
NaShom Carter contributed 11 points and four rebounds off the bench.
The Knights, who won all three of its home games this weekend, held a 41-37 lead with 13:25 remaining in the second half, but then rolled off eight straight points to grab a 12-point lead.
Hovasse, who scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half, nailed back-to-back 3-pointers to put the Knights ahead, 61-48, with 5:02 left. Saddleback's Nik Lipovic answered with two straight 3-pointers of his own to keep the Gauchos in the game.
Saddleback got within five points with 1:38 left, but Stamps put the game away with a crucial 3-pointer 30 seconds later.
The Gauchos were led by David Dial's 17 points and Dillon Waikle's 14 points and five rebounds.
The Knights never trailed in any of the three games over the weekend as they improved to 4-2 on the season.
Hovase, along with Huntsberry and Isaac Davis, were selected to the all-tournament team.
City will play Santa Monica and Citrus next Friday and Saturday at Citrus' Neil Edwards Classic. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
