Women's Soccer Coasts to Victory in OEC Opener, 4-0

Cypress, CA- The Cypress Chargers women's soccer team (6-0, 1-0 OEC) opened Conference play on Tuesday afternoon against Irvine Valley (1-7-1, 0-1 OEC) at Ray Haas Field.  The #2 ranked Chargers stayed perfect on the season as they defeated the Lasers, 4-0.

Brianna Rodriguez led Cypress with two goals in the first half both assisted by Brianna Cortez. Jassmin Oritz and Anahi Diaz each found the net, both scoring their second goal of the season.

The Brianna (Rodriguez) to Brianna (Cortez) connection got started early and often for Cypress. Rodriguez put away the first goal in the first minute of the match. Brianna Cortez sent a beautiful through ball to the forward where she beat keeper to the left side of the net. In almost identical fashion the duo struck again on the same play in the 10th minute to put the Chargers up, 2-0. Presli Dillon found the head of Anahi Diaz (17') on a perfect cross from the right sideline for the third goal of the match. Jassmin Ortiz put the final goal away in the 72' minute to propel the Chargers to victory.

UP NEXT: Conference play is in full swing as the Chargers will head to Golden West on Friday, October 1st. Kickoff will be at 3:00pm.
