MEN'S SOCCER: HORNETS AND PIRATES TIE

The FC men's soccer team hosted Orange Coast College on Tuesday with both teams locking up in a 1-1 tie.

It was an exciting game filled with lots of action (13 shots on goal - 9 FC - 4 OCC) as both the Hornets (2-0-2) and Pirates (1-0-2) fought to stay on top in the Orange Empire Conference.

The first goal came in the second half in the 50th minute by Orange Coast on a ten-footer by Archie Beldie (assist by Nicholas Cardenas).

Stunned by the Pirate's quick and easy goal, Fullerton came back with a goal of their own in the 65th minute. Miles Metoyer drove the ball down the field passing it off to Cesar Ortega who planted the ball into the back of the net.

From there, the two teams did their best to break up the stalemate, but time ran out leaving the in a 1-1 draw.

Fullerton GK Fabian Caldera played very well having 3 saves on the day.

Up Next: The Hornets (4-5-2 overall, 2-0-2 OEC) will play again on Tuesday, October 3rd when they host Santa Ana College in another important OEC game. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
