Volleyball wins in 5 Sets over the Vaqueros

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's volleyball team hosted the Santa Barbara Vaqueros on Friday night in front of a very lively home crowd and gave the people what they wanted, a win. The Rengades beat the Vaqueros in a five set battle, 3-2. 

BC ended the first set with a loss, 22-25. However, the came back in the next two winning 25-17 and 25-15. Unforunately, SBCC was not going to let the Gades go off without putting a fight in the fourth set and won by just two points, 26-24 forcing a fifth set. 

The last and final set was a back and forth battle going point for point. In the end the game would be tied at 14 and BC nabbed the final two points to take the game at home. 

Freshman Alexandra Johnson ended the night with another triple double on the season totaling out 11 aces, 19 kills, and 14 digs while teammate Aubree Dees had a season high of 27 digs.

With the win, the Renegades move to 3-5 on the season. Up next, they head out of for the road taking on Santa Monica on Wednesday, September 28th and Canyons on Friday, September 30th.
