KNIGHTS DRAW TWICE IN GVC PLAY

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Feather River College on Tuesday and College of the Siskiyous on Friday in Golden Valley Conference play.

Grace Dudley scored on a corner kick in the 26st minute and Reagen Mello scored on a 30-yard direct kick in the 38th minute to go into half with a 2-0 advantage. But Shasta surrendered two goals across nine minutes, both from Katelyn Brandao. The Knights totaled eight shots, five on goal. Natalie Stockham had three saves and didn't allow a goal while Adilene Miranda had four saves on six shots.

Against Siskiyous, Leslie Villarreal assisted Sophia Triantafyllou in the 1st minute to stake an early 1-0 lead. Siskiyous tied it in the 22nd minute on a Makenna Maldanado goal and went into half knotted at 1. Serena Elwood assisted Berenice Lira in the 55th minute but Maldanado spoiled the home victory with a goal in the 88th minute.

Shasta outshot Siskiyous 28-23 and had 14 shots on goal. Stockham had 11 saves on 13 attempts.

The Knights (0-1-2 GVC, 0-1-2) play at Butte College Friday in their only match this week.
