Compton, Calif. – The Compton Tartars Men's Soccer team (0-1) hosted the Cuyamaca Coyotes (1-0) Tuesday afternoon for the season opener, the Tartars fell to the Coyotes 3-1. Freshman Adalberto Vargas scored the first goal of the season during the 9th minute of the game.
Freshman Milton Herrera served as goalkeeper for Compton. Freshmen Kelvin Campos, Rigoberto Laguna, and sophomore Alfredo Trujillo all had attempted shots on goal.
The Tartars host Moorpark on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m.
