COD (7-4) Women's Tennis had their amazing playoff run end in the Regional Finals, against a familiar foe, the El Camino Warriors of Torrance (16-0), 5-2.

The Roadrunners started every playoff run down 0-3 in every round, having to forfeit at least one doubles match and at least two singles matches, leaving Desert to have to go undefeated in the remainder of their matches just to advance. Doing just that at the quarterfinals at College of the Canyons and then again at the semifinals at Riverside City College.

Desert faced the Warriors in South Coast Conference play in a home-at-home series during the 2022 regular season. At Cerritos College, the Warriors hosted Desert, where the Roadrunners fell on February 10, 5-2 and at home in Palm Desert, the Roadrunners hosted El Camino, where Desert fell, 6-3 on March 8.

In doubles play, the team of freshman Shekinah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Antonella Mazzotti (Rancho Mirage H.S.) were stunned by the team from El Camino. Shekinah Daffon and Mazzotti split the season series with this same doubles team, winning on February 10th (8-5) and falling on March 8th (8-1).

The team of freshman Emunah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Agustina Berrondo (Tucumán (ARG) Institute Hermanas Esclavas) won easily, 8-2. Emunah Daffon and Berrondo faced this same team on February 10th, but had their match suspended prematurely due to an injury to one of the Roadrunners players.

El Camino would win the third doubles match in a walkover.

Going into singles play, all El Camino needed was one victory to secure the win. With Desert dropping two of three doubles matches and surrendering two of five singles matches due to only having four players, it left the Roadrunners in a precarious spot.

In singles play, Emunah Daffon effortlessly won in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-1. Berrondo and Shekinah Daffon were in the process of fighting back in their respective matches when Mazzotti lost in straight sets 6-2 and 6-4, ending the match.

El Camino College defeated College of the Desert, 5-2 in the Final round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs at El Camino College in Torrance.
