Softball: Roadrunners earn 5-1 win at San Diego City

Victoria Medina went 3 for 4 at the plate while Victoria Salinas allowed just a run on six hits to help lead Rio Hondo College to a 5-1 non-conference win at San Diego City College on Friday. The victory improved the Roadrunners to 3-4-1 overall.

Medina collected three of Rio Hondo's six hits in the game while Maria Enriquez drove in a pair of runs.

Rio Hondo jumped on SDCC pitcher Ava Kopperschlager early as the Roadrunners greeted her by scoring three runs in the top of the first while adding a fourth run in the second.

Salinas was cruising until allowing a run to the Knights in the bottom of the fifth. She went the distance for the complete-game win as she struck out three and walked two.

Rio Hondo will look to keep the momentum going on Tuesday (Feb. 6) when they host LA Harbor College in a South Coast Conference interdivision game that begins at 3 p.m.
