Women's Soccer gets Their First Home Win of the Season.

With possession of the ball for the majority of the game, the Compton College women's soccer team opened their home 2022 season with a convincing 6-0 win over visiting San Diego Miramar College on Friday. The team will host Antelope Valley College at 2:00 p.m. next Tuesday.

From the beginning of the game, Compton College was in Jets territory and maintained pressure throughout the course of the game.

Sophomore Crystal Orea  would lead the team in goals with two for the game, and freshman Alanis Rodriguez combined scored one goal and had three assists.

The Tartars did not waste much time as they scored their first goal at the four minute mark. Freshman Lisdeny Martinez kicked a swift ball into the back of the Jets net from 30 feet out.

Coming out of the halftime break, the Tartars scored twice to take a 4-0 lead within the first five minute of play for the second half.  With a nice assist from Rodriguez, Orea In the right spot, chipped in a goal.

The scoring closed out in the 80th minute, as Rodriguez would get in on the scoring action as well after being more of the assist person for most of the game. 


The defense did not allow the Jets to score a goal for the game.

Next up the Tartars will host Antelope Valley College on Tuesday September 6th at 2pm.
