Grossmont College women's beach volleyball captures two wins against MiraCosta College.

Friday, March 22- A sunny morning at Grossmont College, the women's beach volleyball team played against MiraCosta College. It was Grossmont's second conference match of the season, and the Griffin women defeated the Spartans 4-1. However it wasn't the first time Grossmont outshined MiraCosta.

GC captured its first win against the #5 ranked Spartans Friday, March 15. The Griffins were on unfamiliar sand at Warm Waters Beach, leaving though with a 3-2 win and a perfect conference record.

In 2018, Grossmont beach volleyball captured the conference championship within the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. In addition to conference championships in 2015 and 2016, head coach Jamie Ivers hopes add another title this season. The ultimate goal is a second team state championship. Ivers led Grossmont to a team state title in 2016.

Grossmont College women's beach volleyball is currently ranked #2 in the state (AVCA CCCAA Collegiate Beach Volleyball Coaches Poll: March 18, 2019), and holds a 11-2 overall record this season. The women are 2-0 in the PCAC with their next game against Palomar College- Friday, March 29 at College of the Desert, 9:00 a.m.
