Decock reaches Round of 32 at State Tourney in singles and doubles

SBCC's Andres Decock had quite a debut on Thursday in the State Men's Tennis Tournament at The 119th Ojai.

The freshman from Belgium beat No. 16 Dat Tran of Santa Rosa 6-2, 6-1 at Pacifica High to advance to the Round of 32. He'll take on No. 1 Kalman Boyd of state champion College of the Desert on Friday at Hueneme High at 8 a.m.

In doubles, Decock teamed with Dominic Signorello to blank James James/Jeremy Schubert of Folsom Lake 6-0, 6-0, then they stunned No. 7 Sebastian Gomez/Manfred Vogt of Desert 6-3, 5-7, 10-5.

Decock/Signorello will play unseeded Lucas Fortt and Shayan Haddad Kaveh of Saddleback in a Round of 32 match on Friday at Hueneme High at 12:30 p.m.
