Young Leads Offensive Barrage in Rout over Cerritos

TORRANCE, Calif. – Logan Young had a career day at the dish as El Camino College brought the lumber with a 12-1 shellacking over visiting Cerritos in a South Coast Conference game Thursday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Young set a new career high as he went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI for the Warriors (19-4, 7-3). Overall, the Warriors pounded out 14 hits including three doubles. They also drew seven walks and were hit by a pitch three times in the game.

Along with Young, Joseph Borges, Aaron Orozco and Spencer Long all recorded multi-hit games with Orozco also driving in three runs.

Jimmy Galicia was excellent on the bump, tossing seven strong inning in which he allowed just one run on five hits. He walked two and struck out four to stay undefeated on the season, picking up his sixth victory.

The offense began right away for ECC as the Warriors scored three times in the opening frame. They scored in the first four innings and led 9-1 after four innings before adding three more in the seventh to cap the scoring.

The Warriors will look to take the series from the Falcons Saturday afternoon as the teams face off in the rubber match at Kincaid Field. First pitch is set for noon.
