Packed-House Playoff Atmosphere Fuels Falcons Victory

After an amazing regular season, the Falcons were ready to show they deserved a first round bye, and to host a home playoff game. The sold-out crowd did not disappoint.

Fueled by the crowd and readiness for the playoffs, the Falcons took a 41-26 lead heading into halftime. A culmination of great shots and stellar defense allowed FLC to take charge in the first half.

Feather River has had a track record of competing with anyone, and they showed it to start the 3rd quarter. After 10 minutes of play, the Golden Eagles scored 26 points (the same as the entire first half) to the Falcons 12 points, with FLC only leading by one point heading into the fourth quarter.

A back and forth ending, the Falcons ended up victorious, making crucial stops and making free throws down the stretch, winning 72-68 to advance to the sweet sixteen.

Eva Graf stepped up big time, scoring 10 points while securing a game-high 14 rebounds. Corrie Harrison continued her inside dominance with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The overall x-factor in the game was Alysa Lopez scoring 22 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and dishing out 4 assists. Macie Purbaugh contributed 11 points and 4 assists, making a clutch free throw to ice the game.

The #8 seed Falcons (23-6) survive and advance to star in a rematch versus #1 seed Butte College (25-3) at their home place next Saturday, March 4th.
