M. SOCCER: TIE-STREAK BROKEN

Fullerton's four-game tie streak was broken on Tuesday after blanking Irvine Valley College 5-0 at the OC Great Park.

The scoring began early with FC's Oscar Vega kicking the ball into the back of the net in the 3rd minute. The assist came from Tanner Coombs.

With 3 minutes left in the first half, DJ Westwood hit paydirt putting the Hornets up 2-0. Nima Ahmari was credited with the assist.

A minute later, Ryan Meinardus fed the ball to Ahmari, who got in on the scoring action to put FC up 3-0 by halftime.

The second half saw the Hornets score two more goals to button the game up. Chance Alviso scored in the 68th minute with the assist coming from Diego Anaya, and in the 89th minute Tanner Coombs knocked in the fifth and final goal with the assist coming from Erik Estrada.

FC goalie Andres Ramirez had 2 saves and no goals against for his 8th shutout of the season.

Up Next: The Hornets (9-5-5 overall, 3-3-4 OEC) will get back at it this Friday, November 5th when they host Santiago Canyon College. The OEC game starts at 3:00 pm.
