Warrior Drop Two Games To Finish Cesar Chavez Tournament

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The Warriors lost the two games they played on Saturday at the Cesar Chavez Tournament and finished the tournament with an 0-4 record.

El Camino 14, Las Positas 18

The Warriors trailed from the beginning of the game and couldn't overcome a 4-score lead that began in the first quarter against Las Positas.  

Bronson Garel led the team with 6 goals in the game.  Matheus Trefilio, Tyler Reed, Caio Vieira, and Zackary Johnson each scored two goals.  Johnson led the team with three assists.  Reed led the defense with three steals.  Gary Bellingham made five saves in the game.

El Camino 13, Jalisco U-20 17

The Warriors had to play from behind again, a recurring theme all weekend as the Jalisco U-20 team had a 4-2 lead after one quarter.  The Warriors matched them in the second quarter with five goals and outscored them 4-3 in the third quarter to make it a 1-score game after three.  However, the Warriors were outscored 5-2 in the final frame and dropped their fourth and final match of the weekend.

Caio Vieira and Bronson Garel each scored three goals a piece for the Warriors.  Matheus Trefilio had two goals in the game.  Garel led the team with three assists and four steals.  Gary Bellingham made 8 saves for the game.

The Warriors return home for their second home game of the season as they take on Rio Hondo College in their conferrence opener on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
