No. 5 Women’s Water Polo Continues Domination in Conference

The Vikings women's water polo team defeated the Cerritos College Falcons 15-5 for their fith consecutive conference victory. With the win, the Vikings hold a 12-5 overall record and are perfect in the South Coast Conference with a 5-0 record.

Goalkeepers Coryn Cavecche, Danielle Sgontz, and Hailey Wadlington all took charge as a defensive force against the Falcons. Together, they totaled eight saves on 13 Falcon shots.

"We took our time slow and steady during the game," said Wadlington. "But steady is also fast."

Attacker Sydney Brouwer led the team with four goals, while Kaya Barrett seized three herself for the Vikings.

The women's water polo team will return to the pool on Friday, Oct. 14 in the LBCC mini tournament starting with an 8 a.m. game against Riverside.
