SAC Softball Falls to Mt. SAC 3-0 in Non-Conference Play

SANTA ANA, Calif. - On Friday, the Santa Ana College Softball team hosted Mt. SAC (5-4, 0-0) in a non-conference matchup. Although the Dons (5-4, 5-3) created some opportunities to score, they just couldn't manage to drive in runners in key moments which led to a 3-0 loss to the Mounties.

SAC got a solid outing from starting pitcher Emily Rosas but was hurt by a few errors that allowed two runs to score in the fourth and one more in the seventh. Rosas threw all seven innings, allowing three runs (0 earned) on just five hits with one strikeout.

The Dons mustered up just two hits on the day but did draw six walks, giving them a couple chances to score. Unfortunately, they couldn't cash in and left nine runners on base compared to just seven for the Mounties.

Airilin Ramirez recorded one of the SAC hits and also walked twice while Miranda Ramirez produced the second hit along with a walk of her own.

Santa Ana hopes to turn things around next week when they return to Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday. The Dons will host the first place Cypress Chargers (9-0, 8-0) on Wednesday in a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m. Cypress will host the second double-header on Friday with first pitch set for 12:00 p.m.
