Hawks Fall to Late Goal

Sacramento, Calif. The Hawks hosted the Los Medanos College under the lights. Hawks Looking to get back into the win column.

 

First half kicked off and both teams look to establish themselves as the dominant force on the field. It was a back and forth first 20 minutes with both teams not creating any clear chances. That all changed in the 30th minute when freshman Nariyah O'Brien beat the backline on a good solo run. Got to the edge of the box and crossed a negative ball into on coming freshman Lakshmi Vallabhaneni who took a shot that ended hitting the post and bouncing across the goal. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw. The 2nd half began and the Lady Hawks took over the match taking control of the possession of the ball and chances on goal. Lady Hawks clearest chance came in the 65th minute when freshman Jaeda Wilson beat 2 two defenders and played freshman Chioma Onejeme behind the backline. Onejeme hit a solid spot and the Los Medanos goalkeeper made excellent save. Late in the game came heartbreak for the Lady Hawks, as a shot from 30 yards beat sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Chapman. Chapman made a game high 11 saves. 

 

Next up for the Lady Hawks is road game against Evergreen Valley College on Tuesday. Lady Hawks look to get a valuable win on the road.
