Men’s Tennis Experiences Déjà Vu in Second Showdown with Orange Coast

It was déjà vu for the Riverside City College men's tennis team on Thursday afternoon as they took on the Orange Coast College Pirates for the final time this season. The Tigers mirrored their early-season success against the Pirates by completing the series sweep at the final score of 8-1.

Riverside dominated singles play as they took five of six matches in straight sets. Freshman Rafael Rullan held down the top spot leading to a 6-2, 6-0 win. Freshman Luca Braan followed with the lone three set win by winning the third set tie breaker, 10-5. He dropped the opening set 2-6, but roared back with a 6-3 second set win.

Freshman Felicien Adam cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win, while freshman Carlos Rullan pocketed a 6-0, 6-3 victory. Freshman Maurice Nolan (6-2, 6-3) and Anant Bhika (6-1, 6-1) had no issues at the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

The doubles matches were tough showdowns, but Riverside was able to come out on top by winning two of the three. Adam and Brann earned a 8-6 win at the second position, while Bhika and Nolan earned an 8-4 win at the third slot.
