The West Valley men's soccer team closed out the regular season with a methodical 3-0 blanking of rival Evergreen Valley Friday at The Pitch. Pablo Ramirez Belmont notched a pair of goals to lead the Viking offense, blasting in a shot from the left side of the box in the 15th minute (Andy Nunez assist) and then giving WVC a 2-0 lead at 28" on an unassisted tally. Salomon Kendaya closed out the scoring with a goal off an Alan Ramirez helper in the 74th minute. Jeron Rojas and Irvin Cardoza each turned away two Hawk shots to combine on the clean sheet in goal. West Valley 10-6-3, 8-3-1 Coast-North) will learn its playoff opponent, date and location early this week. Ten Viking sophomores playing their final game at Dick Schwendinger Field - Thomas Barker, Irvin Cardoza, Joel Fajardo, Francisco Hernandez, Mario Larios, Guilherme Lins, Sebastian Maciel, Andy Nunez, Pablo Ramirez Belmont and Jeron Rojas - were honored in a pre-game ceremony.
