East L.A. Upsets Mt. SAC Women's Basketball, SCC North Title Up for Grabs

(Monterey Park, CA) Things are getting exciting in the South Coast Conference North Division standings as host East Los Angeles College (16-11, 2-5) upset division leader Mt. SAC, 68-50, on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The loss drops the Mounties (20-7, 5-2) into a first place tie with Pasadena City College (18-7, 5-2).

Mt. SAC will host the Lancers to settle the division championship on Friday, Feb. 21, at 5 p.m. The Mounties were victorious, 55-47, the first time the teams met this season on Feb. 5.

In today's game, Mina Guevera-Goss led Mt. SAC with 13 points, while grabbing nine rebounds and teammate Skylarr Little had a team-high 11 boards. Bench scoring was a determining factor in the game as the Huskies tallied 49 points to the Mounties' nine.

East L.A.'s Katherine Headspeth led all players with 23 points off the bench.
