Comets keep it close but ultimately fall to Olympians

SAN DIEGO, CA (3/16/2022) -- In their first meeting of the season, San Diego Mesa College defeated Palomar College three sets to none. The Comets held strong through the three sets falling, 25-20, 25-19, adn 25-15. The match was their best against a conference opponent this season.
Freshman Peter-Kalani Suiaunoa had a team-high six kills, while sophomore Josh Hixon and freshman Konnor Rose had five and four, respectively. Suiaunoa also had three solo blocks on the night. While the Comets played well in parts of the match, the Olympians were just too strong in the end.
The Comets move to 2-8 on the season and 0-3 in PCAC play. play.
