Men's Soccer Continues Dominance with a Win at Moorpark

MOORPARK, Calif. - The No.7 ranked El Camino College Warriors raided through the Moorpark defense for five goals in a 5-1 victory at Moorpark on Friday afternoon.  

The Warriors matched their season opener against Citrus with five goals on the day.  

The Warriors continue their undefeated (5-0-1) run to start the season. 

There were five unique goal scorers for the El Camino offense for the game.  Kalyl Silva opened up the scoring with a goal in the 11th minute assisted by Homer SantosOliver Diaz scored nearly a minute later to give the Warriors an early 2-0 lead. Jordan Lopez-Perez added a third goal in the 29th minute with an assist by Eduardo Grados.  The Raiders (2-3) got one goal back before the half ended to make it a 3-1 game.  

However, the Warriors scored early in the second half to restore the three goal lead.  Mario Perez scored in the 51st minute with Homer Santos getting credited for his second assist of the game. Cristo Deras added a late goal in the 89th minute to complete the 5-1 rout.  He was assisted by Jorge Alvarenga and Oliver Diaz on the play.

Luis Garibay started in goal and was credited with five saves for the game.

The Warriors will have actually have next week off as their next game will be an away game at Chaffey College on Tuesday, September 24th.  A Wednesday game originally scheduled at home against Antelope Valley College has been called off.
