SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's soccer team gave up an early and late goal on Friday afternoon as the Cougars fell to Santa Barbara City College 2-0 at the Upper Field.
Canyons was outshot 22-10, and only posted 2 shots on goal.
Santa Barbara opened up the game with a goal in the second minute of the game.
Canyons held off the visitors for the most of the game, as the defense registered seven saves.
The Cougars had a breakdown in the 83rd minute, allowing the Vaqueros to score again as a COC player deflected the ball into its own goal.
COC's goalie Steven Rodriguez had four saves in 90 minutes of work. Philip Boscacci led the team with three shots.
COC will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 24. as they host Moorpark College at 4 p.m.
