Hancock too much for Vaqueros, 94-63

Hancock shot 51.4% on Saturday afternoon, dominated the backboards (44-24) and took advantage of 29 turnovers to down SBCC 94-63 in a WSC North men's basketball game in Santa Maria.

Nick Chapman hit 4-6 from 3-point range and led the Bulldogs (21-6, 8-3) with 14 points. Adrian Juilland-Johnson topped the Vaqueros (1-23, 0-10) with 15 points but also had eight turnovers.

Joseph Holden added 13 points for the Vaqueros and Jacob Canada tallied a season-high 11 off the bench. He scored all 11 points in 11 minutes of the second half.

The Vaqueros jumped out to a 7-0 lead, then Hancock put together a 24-4 run to take control, 24-11.

The Bulldogs led 46-24 at intermission, thanks to a 23-9 board advantage with 10 offensive rebounds. The Vaqueros shot 40% in the first half and committed 17 turnovers.

Hancock went on a 17-5 burst midway through the second half and took a 72-40 lead on a layup by Jamario Bibb with 10:54 to play.

The Vaqueros have two games remaining -- Wednesday at home vs. L.A. Pierce at 7 p.m. and Friday at Moorpark at 7 p.m.
