A pair of goals from Fresno City's Michael Vega lifted the Rams to a tense 2-0 win over the West Valley men's soccer team Saturday at Dick Schwendinger Field. The two NorCal powers battled back and forth for a spirited 90+ minutes that saw seven yellow cards handed out. The Vikings (1-2-1) had a pair of shots hit the post for the second straight fixture. Vega found the back of the net for the Rams (3-0-2) in the 16th minute (Sebastain Caballero assist) for a 1-0 lead that would hold up until the 87th minute when he scored off an Alexis Rodriguez helper. WVC travels to Folsom Lake (4-0-2) Friday (9/20) for a 7:00 tilt against the Falcons.
