Water Polo Collects 29th Title and Books 42nd Straight Playoff Berth

Cuesta Men's Water Polo dominated the WSC Tournament last weekend in Glendora. The Cougars swept through the Western State Conference tournament last weekend to earn the program's 29th conference title since 1979, while also extending its playoff run to 42 consecutive berths.  The Poloists have never missed the post-season and their 29 titles are the most of any program at Cuesta College.  The Cougars were 4-0 against the loop during the regular season and received a first-round bye, before beating host Citrus, 17-6, in the semi-final and Ventura, 18-11, in the title game.  The Cougars are 27-6 this season.

Cuesta earned the 4th-seed in the 2021 CCCAA Regional Playoffs at Southwestern College in Chula Vista this weekend.  The Cougars earned a first round-bye and open against 5th-seed Orange Coast.  The Pirates finished 3rd in the Orange Empire Conference and boast a 16-7 record.  They opened their season against Cuesta on September 17th and fell to the Cougars, 12-9.  The winner advances to the semi-final for a chance to advance to the 2021 CCCAA State Championship.  The top two teams in both the North and South Regions advance to the CCCAA State Championship.  The Cougars have reached the State Final Four five times, but not since 2007.
