Women's Volleyball Splits in Season Opener

Stockton, Calif. - Sophomore middle blocker Destiny Greenwood paced all Falcon hitters as the Solano women's volleyball team split in its season opener, sweeping Cosumnes River but falling in straight sets to San Joaquin Delta on Wednesday evening.

Set scores against the Hawks were 25-21, 25-18, 25-23, while against the Mustangs the final scores were 25-14, 25-15, 25-13.

Greenwood racked up 21 kills on the day with 14 against Cosumnes River. Defensively, freshman Kailyn Kaiser earned nine digs against the Hawks, and sophomore setter Mia Pimentel earned 47 assists on the day.

The Falcons (1-1) prepare for their home opener next, hosting Gavilan and Siskiyous on Friday, Aug. 31 beginning at 3 p.m.
