The MSJC women's soccer team opened play in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference on Tuesday and came up short in a home match against San Bernardino Valley 3-0.

The Eagles and Wolverines, the #12 ranked team in the state, battled evenly for the first 38 minutes of the match before SBVC was able to forge ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 38th minute.  The Wolverines would strike twice more in the next 11 minutes once just before halftime in the 44th minute and then again early in the second half in the 49th minute to take control of the match.  From there it went back to a defensive battle as neither team was able to put the ball in the net the rest of the way.

Alex Basoukas made a save in goal while allowing three to score in her 75 minutes of action, Lauren Reynolds played the final 15 minutes at Goal Keeper for MSJC.

The loss drops the Eagles to 2-5-1 on the season and 0-1 in IEAC play.  MSJC will hit the road for their next two matches as they travel to Palm Desert, to take on College of the Desert Friday October 4th, and then travel to Victor Valley next Tuesday October 8th.  The Eagles will return home to the Menifee Campus on Tuesday October 15th when they host Norco College.  MSJC's next three matches will all kick off at 4 pm.
