TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College women's soccer team dropped their opening game of the 2019 season 1-0 vs MiraCosta College.
The Spartans scored the only goal of the game in the 12th minute of play. The Warriors defense thought an offsides would be called on a pass to Nicole Sayd, however, the whistle never came and she dribbled from the 50-yard line and past the goalkeeper to slot it in the net for the only goal of the game.
After missing last season, Kelly Gallagher started in net for the Warriors and made three saves. The Warriors had two shots for the day by Monica Bernardino and Carolyn Medina.
The Warriors return to action on Friday on the road at Santa Monica.
