Comes fall short to Eagles, Jets

MIRA MESA, CA (4/7/2023) -- Palomar College women's beach volleyball faced Mt. San Jacinto College and San Diego Miramar College on a sunshine filled Friday morning.

The Eagles got the best of the Comets, taking the match 4-1, but 4s pair Lacey Garcia and Ashlynn Craven held their own in a three set battle to get the lone point for Palomar. Savanna Lewis and Holland Hancock (1s pairs) and Rachael Cooke and Bailey Prieto (3s pair) also went to three sets but fell short. 

In their second match of the day, the Comets faired a little better, but the Jets took off for a 3-2 win. Garcia and Craven made light work of Miramar's 4s pair to win their set 21-10, 21-17 to finish 2-0 on the day. Mayara Swillens and Kaihla Granger played in the fifth spot and won 21-15, 21-17 for the second point for the Comtes. 

Palomar sits at 4-11 overall and 1-7 in conference play. They will face MiraCosta College and Grossmont College on Friday down at Warm Waters Beach in Carlsbad.
