Trailing the first six innings, the Cerritos College baseball team scored three times in the seventh inning and went on to a 6-5 win over Glendale College on Saturday at Kincaid Field. The win was the second in as many days for the Falcons, who will travel to Mt. San Jacinto College for a 2:00 p.m. game on Tuesday.

Down, 4-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, freshman second baseman Andres Vega (Mary Star of the Sea HS) led off with a double inside the first base line. He moved to third on a single to left field by sophomore Alex Bueno (Centennial, NV HS). The bases were then loaded after sophomore third baseman Richard Castro (Bishop Amat HS/Cal State San Bernardino) drew a walk. With one out, Edgardo Montanez came on to pitch for the Vaqueros (1-1). Facing sophomore outfielder Bodie Parker (Cajon HS/Chaffey College), Montanez bounced a pitch that got away from catcher Emiliano Gonzalez, which allowed Vega to score the tying run.

Parker then singled through the right side, which plated Bueno with the go-ahead run. Freshman designated hitter Nolan Brown (Long Beach Poly HS) then drove in what would turn out to be the game-winning run, as his sacrifice fly brought in Castro.

Freshman relief pitcher Nathaniel Davalos (Santa Fe HS) tossed five innings to earn the win after sophomore starter Andrew Arguello (La Serna HS/Orange Coast College) was pulled after three innings. In the top of the eighth inning, Glendale would push a run across to bring the score to 6-5. Sophomore Andy Hurtado (Downey HS/Rio Hondo College) came on to retire all three batters in the ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.

After Glendale scored twice in the top of the first inning, sophomore outfielder Buck Anderson (Lakewood HS/Cal State Bakersfield) led off with a walk, stole second base, moved to third on a fly out and scored on a wild pitch. Sophomore outfielder Shea Estrin (West Torrance HS) led off the fifth inning with a double, stole third base and scored on an Anderson infield single. Vega followed with a double and came home on a base hit from Bueno, who reached base four times on the day.
