MSJC Wins Two on the Beach

The MSJC women's beach volleyball team won two big matches on Wednesday in wet and windy conditions as they defeated San Diego City and Mira Costa.

The Eagles defeated San Diego City 4-1 as the #2 duo of Trysta Vincelli and Chloe Mata set the tone for MSJC with a straight set win 27-25 and 21-5.  Kennidy Martin and Laelanie Isbell won a tough one in the #3 match as they outlasted their Knight counterparts 21-19, 19-21, and 15-5.  Iris del Valle and Kalia Anady picked up a straight set win in the 4's match.

MSJC also picked up a win over Mira Costa Wednesday defeating them 3-2.  The teams of Martin/Isbell and del Valle/Anady both picked up their second wins of the day.  With the team score tied at 2-2 the #5 match made the difference as Eagles Audrey Underwood and Tracy Blanchard came through with a straigh sets victory.  The pair won 21-8 and 21-15 to secure the team win.

The Eagles are now 8-9 overall on the season and 3-1 in conference play.  They are set to host Palomar and Grossmont Friday morning at the Menifee Campus.  The first match of the day is set to begin at 9 am.
