LANCASTER - The Marauder softball team suffered a pair of defeats, 14-0 and 1-0 at the hands of the eighth-ranked tam in the state, Palomar, Friday afternoon at Marauder Stadium.
It was a difficult two games for AVC, which entered the game ranked No. 5 in Southern California just below Palomar, as it only collected a total of four hits in both games against Palomar pitcher Crystal Moore-DesLauriers. In two games against a solid AVC lineup, Moore-DesLauriers struck out 15 AVC hitters.
Moore-DesLauriers hit the game-winning RBI double in the second game which ended up being the only run.
AVC has already faced three of the state's eight teams. It is 1-3 against those teams, with a victory against No. 4, Mt. SAC.
The Marauders will look to get back to their winning ways when they host Riverside on Tuesday.
