Falcons, Panthers go 11 innings

The Falcons played a doubleheader at state #13 ranked Sacramento City on Saturday and nearly pulled off a huge upset.  The two teams went 11 innings in game one before Sac City scratched out a run to win 2-1.  The Panthers then prevailed in game two, 5-0 for the doubleheader sweep.   Pitcher Olivia Aguigam and the Falcon fielders were at their best in the opening game, allowing the Panthers no more than one hit in any inning except the first and the fateful 11thAraya Corral had the Falcons' lone RBI when she doubled home Mickayla Burnett in the 6th inning to tie the score at 1-1.

The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game two, then proceeded to shut down the Falcon bats as they won 5-0.  The Falcons managed just three hits and one walk for a total of four baserunners in seven innings.  They'll play a non-conference doubleheader at Lassen College on Tuesday, then host Santa Rosa and Sierra on Thursday and Friday.
