COD (3-7; 1-0) will submit their entry into the "Cardiac Kids" pool, as two of their three wins have arrived via a frenzy of last out offense, today's victim was the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles of Menifee (2-9; 0-3), 11-10 in 8 innings.

Desert found themselves in a hole as the Roadrunners opened up Inland Empire Athletics Conference (IEAC) play at home and by the end of the 5th, they were down 7-3. The home side would start to chip away at that lead, scoring a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to tie the game at 7-7, sending the contest into extra innings.

In the top of the eighth, Mt. San Jacinto would plate three more runs, to give the visitors a not-so-pleasant, 10-7 lead. The Roadrunners got back to work in the bottom half of the inning, as Desert loaded the bases with no outs, a sacrifice fly brought home one run, a single to center scored the next, an infield single loaded the bases again just before the second out. Then a single to left scored the game tying run, with the bases still loaded, a rocket shot to the Eagles short stop scored the game winner from third base.

College of the Desert Softball will continue Inland Empire Athletics Conference (IEAC) play by traveling to the Barstow Vikings for their next game on February 25th at 12p. The next home game for the Roadrunners will be on Saturday, February 26th at 6p, where Desert will host Team Italy.
