OEC SPLIT AT IRVINE VALLEY

The FC beach volleyball squad took a trip down to Irvine Valley College on Friday and split OEC matches with Saddleback and the Lasers.

Prior to today's matches, the Hornets were tied with IVC for first place in the Orange Empire Conference standings. FC won the first match of the day 5-0, and then lost the second to the Lasers 4-1. Despite the loss, Fullerton (5-2) is still in contention for the OEC-Eastern title just a game back from Irvine Valley (4-1). Orange Coast College remains undefeated in the OEC-West, while Cypress sits in second at 3-2.

In the day's first match with Saddleback College, Fullerton won it 5-0. It was the second time this season that Fullerton pulled off a sweep over the Bobcats.

The second match of the day was a tougher battle against first place Irvine Valley. The Hornets did their best to keep up with the Lasers but ended up falling 4-1.
